Make the command smaller than the destination

A child does not need to remember the history of an entire city to have an interesting day. One form, animal, material or question can be enough. Please discuss in advance what you are going to do and when there is a break. Leave room to stop earlier.

The age bands below describe the level of the assignment, not the safety or accessibility of a destination. Interest, strength and guidance vary per child. Choose the assignment and the site separately.

Eight ideas to do together

These assignments are their own editorial proposals. There is no booking or guaranteed activity programme included.

An alternative without a failed day

In case of rain or a lot of wind, an indoor visit can be better suited. Look at the current offer of CRETAquarium, the Natural History Museum or an archaeological museum. Choose one question for the visit instead of wanting to do all the rooms. Check opening and any conditions for participation.

You can also use the guide at your stay: recognize five Greek letters, design your own biscuit dish or draw a drawing at a myth. Use real sightings and reliable information for nature recognition; our AI illustrations are for atmosphere.

Shadow, subsurface and return

A short distance is not automatically a simple walk. View stairs, loose stones, slope and sun exposure. If necessary, choose a small accessible part and return to the same place. Our accessibility cards indicate which data are attached and which are still missing.

Plan drinking, food and a quiet sitting place in your day. Swimming and gorges require a personal consideration of the current circumstances; an educational assignment does not automatically make a location suitable. Let each adult know what the return appointment is.

Let each save one detail

Ask not only what was fun, but also what surprised someone. Let each choose one word, drawing or photo. Make a short travel note together. This way children become co-teller of the trip.
